Fishers Employment Network Alliance
In life’s hierarchy of trauma, the loss of one’s job is a close runner-up to the loss of an immediate family member. Several members of our faith community are facing that trauma right now.
A ministry at SLDM Parish is the Fishers Employment Network Alliance (FENA). This is a ministry aimed at helping our fellow members find work and for those seeking employees to be able to employ members of our faith community
Our parish is blessed with talent, opportunities and influence. If you, your employer, or someone you know, may be aware of opportunities, or be able to offer assistance, insight or networking, please contact

Successful employment networking requires three things:
- Talented individuals with meaningful job skills who are in a career transition mode. Many of those individuals within our parish are listed in this FENA.
- Appropriate employment opportunities, many of which are never advertised.
- People willing to spend 15 minutes of their time considering how they might help. Beyond sharing specific opportunities, this could just as easily mean mentoring and/or networking with those who are seeking opportunities or referring these job seekers to another potential employer.
Our goal is to have every parish member employed. Also we want to help every potential employer hire a fellow church member with the minimum of recruitment cost. This ministry has no charges for either side.
The good feeling of helping each other is free, but it lasts for a long time. |
Fishers Employment Networking Alliance Meetings:
If you are in the midst of an employment challenge, gather with us every Wednesday morning in the kitchen in the church basement at 7:00am. Enter through the southeast doors at the back of the church (the Food Pantry entrance). Go down the stairs, through the double doors, and around the corner to the right. We meet in the first room on the right after you turn the corner. This is a time of sharing leads, encouragement, and direction. |
