As the calendar year end draws near, here is a recap of our financial results and an update on several key data points.
FINANCIAL NEWS:
1. Our fiscal year ended 7/31/23 was once again favorable - see graphics on page 2. In summary,
· Operating income increased 2.1% over 2022, offset by an 8.6% increase in operating expenses.
· Our Operating Surplus was $621,000.
· From this surplus, we spent $566,000 on capital enhancements and replacements. Highlights include the completion of:
Craig Willy Hall interior renovation Security Updates – new door locks and additional cameras
Parking lot repairs and re-striping Pre-school playground and protective fencing
Four HVAC unit replacements Upgraded Audio/Visual equipment in the Ministry Center
KEY DATA TRENDS:
Positive:
1. Mass attendance - YTD through November is up 12% over 2022, returning to our 2019 (pre-Covid) numbers.
2. Registered parishioners – YTD net increase in parish families is 135, bringing us to nearly 2,000 in total.
3. Fundraisers – Mardi de Montfort and our school Walkathon generated record proceeds, totaling over $200,000.
4. School enrollment – Enrollment is at an all-time high… 570 students from Pre-K through 8th grade.
Challenging:
5. Parish Tithe - Current fiscal year Mass collections (through 17 weekends) are $77,000 below budget. If we continue at this pace, our 7/31/24 budget shortfall will reach $235,000.
6. CMA – Through November, our Catholic Ministries Appeal support for the Diocese is short of goal by $34,000.
If you’re behind on your 2023 pledge commitment or in a position to increase your support before 12/31, the result will be favorable, dollar for dollar, to our operating results. If you are one of the 1,400 registered families who have not pledged (or paid) anything to CMA, a December contribution would be greatly appreciated. End of year CMA shortfalls will be pulled from our cash reserves.
Please reference page 2 of this update for several opportunities to help us financially and reduce our shortfalls. Scan the respective QR codes to learn which option works best for you. Any contributions made prior to 12/31 will have an immediate impact.
On behalf of Father Haan, Father Jordan, and the staff, we are so grateful for your ongoing financial support. It allows us to expand our program offerings and thrive in meeting the needs of our parishioner and school families.
God Bless you for your ongoing goodness and generosity!
