Parish & School History

• 1978 the parish was established due to the steady growth in Hamilton County
• 1980 the church was built with an initial membership of 160 families
• 1988 Craig Willy Hall was built to provide 4,000 square feet of social gathering space for the parish
• 1993 parishioner, John Burkhard, donated the belltower in memory of his wife, Berly
• 1994  the Youth Ministry Center was completed to provide 10,000 square feet of classroom and assembly space
• 1995 the Perpetual Adoration Chapel, founded by Fr. Donald Eder, opened
• 1999 the dream of a parochial school became a reality at the groundbreaking on August 15
• 2000 St. Louis de Montfort School began its inaugural year on August 17th, as a ministry of the parish, with students grades kindergarten through sixth
• 2003 the parish Silver Jubilee saw the opening of the food pantry
• 2008 a memorial garden was established as well as a prayer labyrinth*
• 2009 the Faith Community of St. Louis de Montfort was recognized as a "Stewardship Parish of Distinction" by the Diocese of Lafayette.
• 2010 the Sanctuary was renovated to enhance the worship experience
• 2010 a new playground was constructed*
• 2011 a new altar was designed and built by then Associate Pastor, Fr. John Kiefer, and parishioner, Steve Grusak*
• 2011 on April 7th the new altar was dedicated by Bishop Timothy Doherty
• 2011 new liturgical furnishings were added, including: ambo, chair, ambry, sacramental oil glass vessels, processional candles and altar candle sticks*
• 2011 St. Louis de Montfort Catholic School was named "Business of the Year" by the Fishers Chamber of Commerce
• 2012 St. Louis de Montfort Catholic School earned an "A" letter grade from the Indiana Department of Education
• 2012 the Ministry Center was renovated and updated*
• 2013 St. Louis de Montfort Catholic School was recognized as a 2012-2013 Indiana Four Star School by the Indiana Department of Education
• 2013 St. Louis de Montfort Catholic School was honored as a 2013 National Blue Ribbon School
