Parishioner volunteers assist the poor in our local community with tutoring, medical care, job placement and feeding the hungry. The goal of this ministry is to help the next generation of children move out of poverty through education and by modeling a good work ethic. Volunteer opportunities are available for all ages and skill sets.

Join your fellow SLDM parishioners by volunteering at the Lord's Pantry at Anna's House. SLDM has committed to send a volunteer group down once a month. Please feel free to sign up for one or multiple weekends by clicking on the specific dates below. We thank you for your time and commitment to this important ministry! Note, the Lord's Pantry at Anna's House is a different ministry from the Food Pantry at the SLDM parish.
What you will be doing
Volunteers meet at Anna’s House between 8:00-8:30am to begin counting, sorting, and bagging fresh fruits and vegetables, canned and non-perishable foods, meats, breads, sweets, and beverages all in preparation for distribution. At 10:30am we begin distribution (currently in drive through mode). Once we begin distribution, our volunteers take to stations to place food bags into the cars of our families while others are needed for replenishing stations, traffic control, marking checklists and more.
Where to go
The Lord's Pantry at Anna's House is located at 303 N. Elder Street; Indianapolis, IN 46222. There is a parking lot in the back at Anna's House where volunteers can park.
