Religious Education (3rd-5th Grade)Classes for 3rd - 5th grade students are Sunday morning, 10:15am - 11:15am. Classes are held in the parish school and led by volunteer catechists. The curriculum follows the Christ Our Life textbook series from Loyola Press. Written by the Sisters of Notre Dame, the new 2016 edition of Christ Our Life foster's children’s love of God while providing a rich knowledge of our Catholic faith. Christ Our Life comprehensively presents the authentic teachings of the Catholic Church and is aligned with the Church’s mission for a New Evangelization. If your child is over the age of 7 and has not received the sacrament of baptism, please contact Kaitlyn Armiger (Coordinator of Children’s Religious Education) at karmiger@sldmfishers.org for next steps. If your child has not received the sacrament of Reconciliation or Communion, and is in 3rd grade or above, please contact Kaitlyn Armiger (Coordinator of Children’s Religious Education) at karmiger@sldmfishers.org.
If your child is in 2nd grade and/or is in their second year of sacramental formation, additional Sacrament information can be found on the ‘First Reconciliation & First Communion’ page.
Note: The Diocese of Lafayette requires two years of sacramental formation. Any parent desiring to have their child receive First Communion in 2nd grade, needs to enroll their child in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd in 1st grade. -
RE Registration
- Registration for the 2023-2024 academic year is open! All new and returning families, 3rd-5th grade, can register HERE.
- If you have a child Age3 - 2nd grade, St. Louis de Montfort offers Catechesis of the Good Shepherd as our religious education program. For more information about CGS and to register your child, please click HERE.

RE Catechists
Each year we need dedicated catechists to teach our parish children about the Catholic faith, help them form a closer relationship with God, and build the Kingdom of God. If you are interested in serving as a Catechist, or would like additional information, please submit your interest HERE.
RE catechists are needed 10:15 - 11:15am Sunday from September through May. All SLDM youth formation programs follow the HSE school calendar.
All volunteers must complete a background check and Safe & Sacred training prior to being placed.
